The economy does seem to drag along, doesn’t it? Sometimes it can feel like it’s just never going to lift up and take off again. I’m eternally optimistic that it will…eventually.
Are you an employee,
or are you an Independent Contractor Owner Operator? If your Motor
Carrier is making all of your decisions for you, then you’re an
employee. If you are running your life as a small business owner…well,
you know the rest.
The economy does seem to drag
along, doesn’t it? Sometimes it can feel like it’s just never going to
lift up and take off again. I’m eternally optimistic that it
will…eventually. But in the meantime, how can you have more money in
your pocket NOW?
It’s easy to say we’re going to tighten our belts, spend less day to day. I don’t know about you, but I always MEAN to cut coupons, but I either don’t…or forget to bring them to the store.
What I’ve found that’s easier than eliminating my guilty pleasures like Starbucks or a 75% off shoe sale has been reducing my large expenditures.
What are your BIG costs per month? What are you spending the big bucks on? What can be done to reduce them EVERY month? I’m referring to Cell Phone Plans, Fuel Card Plans and Expediting Insurance. If you update your ‘plans’ to save $50 each month on each, that’s $1,800 savings per year.
….and No, I don’t mean it will fall neatly into line at fifty bucks each. But speaking on what I know in my world, Straights and Tractor folks out there can save $1,000 per year just by updating their NTL and Phys Dam plans by shopping it…so I’m guessing you can find the other $33 per month buck savings on the other two by shopping it as well.
Wishing you all a safe, profitable and healthy 2012!
