You know, the relationship between you and your Expediting Motor Carrier.
No not your personal relationship… but your professional relationship.
You know, the relationship between you and your Expediting Motor
Carrier. While personal relationships fill that spot in our hearts, our
professional relationships are every bit as important because a solid
one fills that need we all have for financial security and a realization
of economic stability. So while you’re out there waiting for your next
load, it’s easy to forget that the Dispatcher on the other end of the
phone is under a lot of pressure to produce. So, he or she may not
always want to hear an Owner Operator complaining… any more than we
enjoy hearing our spouses complain, right?
Organizations are made up of people. An occasional “Thank you” for a job well done goes a long way in both directions, and a Dispatcher is going to remember someone who is pleasant and good-humored.
Did you meet some interesting new people at the Expo in July? Then drop them a call or email to let them KNOW you enjoyed meeting them, and a thank you if you learned anything from them…no one forgets a compliment.
Networking aka – “relationship building” – is not a special class in college, and it is not mentioned or emphasized enough as a real factor in a successful life. The better your relationships are in your professional world, the happier and more attractive YOU will be to that special someone in your life!
