There’s been much buzz on E.O. over the pros and cons of the “Multis” vs the “Traditional” Owner Operator Expediting structure.

I encourage everyone to check out the entertaining threads that resulted from my 3 part blog series, “Multis – The Good, the Bad and the Uglies.”

Part One Part Two Part Three

Multis claim they have more freedom and flexibility, while Traditionals claim they have a more secure and steady relationship with their one Motor Carrier. But what do they AND their Motor Carriers have in common?

Exposure of lawsuit of up to $1 Million when the insurance they think is covering them… doesn’t.

Guys, it’s not that hard for an insurance agent to get licensed with whomever they choose, you probably see ads all the time for companies looking for more agents. If I thought any one of these companies listed below could insure you, I would simply license with them. CIS is constantly searching for other insurance options for our Owner Ops.

As a final public service to my Expediting Community on this subject, please believe me when I say these companies do not insure Expedite Owner Operators, especially under the “Multi” business model, and especially with an Unlimited Radius. And someone is about to find out that $1 Million is a whole lot of money to come up with when insurance doesn’t trigger as expected:
