Navigating a Way Through

The economy and the effects to the trucking industry are directly impacting all parts of our expediting community. This is not “News” to anyone in the business, but a bit of good advice can help you navigate through the storm.

We receive calls every day from owner/operators large and small on ways to save money on their insurance cost. “Can I save money on my insurance without lowering coverage limits at the same time?” The answer is “YES”.

A specific review of your coverage and current insurance needs can dramatically decrease the cost and keep the coverage required by your leased on Motor Carrier. Many of the same cost benefits can be applied to Expediters with their Own Authority and Small Fleets.

An unexpected event such as an accident or claim against you is not an easy expense to absorb in a good economic period, and can be devastating today. Consider a “deductible” or out of pocket expense of $1,000. How would this affect you today? We have many owner operators electing the low $100 deductible to protect them from just such a situation. $100 out of pocket vs. $1000 and how it will affect you is just one part of reviewing your risk management strategy.

It takes a few minutes to review your exposure and expenses. You have a lot invested and your business along with your family depend on you to keep them protected.

Please remember this: the trucking industry is the first to feel a slow down; you will also be the first to move us forward as we drive out of it. “Trucks move America”. Look for partners in your vendors who will help you and support our community.
