The 5,415 attendees from 36 states and Canada represent a 20% increase over the 2006 Expo and the show’s General Manager, Lawrence McCord says that this year’s event exceeded all expectations.

“We were very gratified by the attendance!” McCord says. “I believe that the Expo has come into its own and become a must-attend event for the expedited trucking community and general trucking as well.”

“We might not be the biggest trucking show, but we’re one of the best!” At Expo This year’s Expo featured a Career Zone with numerous expedited carriers represented, expedited truck dealers, sleeper manufacturers and vendors, expedited business seminars along with music and entertainment.

The Supertruck

The highlight of the event was, of course, the Speedco Supertruck Driveaway Sweepstakes in which a Chrome Shop Mafia-customized Mack Vision Grand Prize was given away to one of twelve finalists. The winning driver was Keith Sampson of Rhome, TX who says “This is great! I came to the Expo for the drawing but I never expected to win it. Now that it’s starting to sink in and things are settling down, my heart’s not beating as fast!”

Keith and his wife are team drivers with Select Carrier Group who run a twice-weekly dedicated route from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Chicago.

His Plans For The Supertruck?

“We might put a driver in it and run expedited or maybe make it into a camper. I can haul my bike in it!”

Speedco also awarded first, second and third place prizes that included:

  • A year’s worth of PM’s from Speedco
  • A complete set of Yokohama tires
  • A $500.00 Shell fuel card

The Progressive Insurance Expedite Driver’s Choice Award

This award is a “People’s Choice” award with the attendees casting their votes for their favorite truck presented by the exhibiting truck dealers. This year’s winner was Bentz Transport Products of Ossian, IN for its Kenworth W900 equipped with a Bentz 150” integrated sleeper.
